Car Insurance is a scam

I was paying $124 a month for insurance on my truck. Yes my driving record isn't perfect but it isnt that bad either. SO this guy hits me a few months ago on my front tire. Didnt do anything to my truck. But his little crappy nissan was busted up. The cop said it wasnt either of our faults. So his insurance comany tries to get money from my insurance company and I guess was successful in doing so. So then my insurance company raises my rates $75 a month today! This is outragous! I have progressive by the way. You pay all this money to them every month then if anything happens they jack your rates up so you end up paying for anything that you claim anyway.

Just don't carry insurance. It seems to work out for all the illegals that are here....

Just let your ride get old and roll the dice.

I think my truck runs about $400 per year for liability.

Car insurance in Texas is the most expensive in the US. Another thing that really gets me is I have more cars and trucks than drivers. Why am I paying insurance on the cars instead of the drivers? But let me have a teenager drive one and the premium goes up because of the driver. Which way is it- insuring the car or driver? Seems the insurance companies have their cake and eat it too. All of this could be avoided if our morons in Austin just had the ***** to legislate no fault insurance. But then again we keep electing lawyers and they aren't about to cut themselves out of a piece of the cake. So how many other industries are you REQUIRED to do business with or you are restricted. Can't drive in Texas without insurance, can't get a license, can't get the vehicle inspected, can't get the car license renewal with out insurance. What's next- can't buy gas without insurance. I would love to join a class action suit against Texas to eliminate the insurance requirement and go with no fault. My family up north has no fault and their premiums are half what mine are and I have no tickets or wrecks......knock on wood.

No fault is great if you're a crappy driver with a crappy car. It kinda sucks when you're a good driver with a nice vehicle. When you get hit and are totally not at fault, your rates get raised as much as the fella that hit you. At least that's my understanding of it. (We had it in MI, I think, when I was growing up, but not in NC)

these damn Insurance companies want you to be scared to put in a claim due to the rates going skyhigh. The guy that hit me barely spoke English and wanted us to just leave and pay our own stuff. I was pissed and thought he didnt have insurance so I wanted a police report. I should have just agreed to leave because my truck just got a scratch on the rim and his car had a busted headlight and cracked bumper from hitting my rim. I am going to shop around for insurance and switch companies. Progressive can kiss my ***.

State Farm

Granted I am 30, but my wife and I pay $178 a month for full coverage on both cars with a $250 deductible and rental car coverage.
She has a 99 Protege Es and I have an f150 supercab XLt.
Both are paid for though. We live in Texas. I remember paying $125 a month for my POS Jetta.
I never understood why insurance companies charge so much (other than greed). I mean ifyou do the math, there are probably 100 million Americans paying for car insurance, maybe more. Look at state farm. You have over a million customers and lets say the pay on average $100 a month. 100 x 1,000,000 = a boat load of money!
Insurance and credit card companies are nothing more than a legalized mob.

I could not agree more. I pay right around 100 for full coverage on my 150, surprised it is not higher because of the 3 tickets I got last year

No fault in British Columbia Canada. I have the best discount rate at 45% of list for safe driving and it is $1,400 for my lightning and about $1,300 for my magnum.
The British Columbia auto insurance is gfovernment run. Socialized Insurance has one benifit and that they can not refuse to insure you and provides uninsured protection so if someone does not have insurance we are covered.
The other provinces have private insurance, 5 years ago I had a quote for my 98 x-cab and a 1967 mustang. The wife does not have nor has had vehicles insured in the last 10 years, so she was considered a new driver and the premiums were over 5,000.00 for both. I was so pissed.

Go with Allstate. I'm paying $1600 per year for my Mustang GT with a few speeding tickets. It's funny I just switched agents and my rate was lowered $600 go figure. It was hilarious when she emailed me asking why I switched. I told her she was raping me on the policy price. She told me about how great Allstate was and this and that and asked me who I went with. She must of croaked when I told her no, no I'm still with Allstate.
