I don't have enough words to describe what I went through at the dealer parts dept. The handle they ordered was indeed the wrong one. It was the right year, just no keyless entry. Then they tried to convince me that I did not want a keyless entry since my truck did not come with it. Then they found out I had a stick on already and they started telling me that you had to buy the keyless pad separate from the handle and the wiring was separate and no way would any of it work on my truck. Finally one guy, decided to show me. He went to the back and brought one out. Pulled it out of the box, and man, I wish I had a camera. Priceless! It was all complete with pad and wiring. Also guess what, it was the part number I went in asking for that I had gotten off a post on this site, and they had told me it had a new number. They had it all along. Of course, it cost $38 more, but I got the bastid. Where do they find these guys? They kept telling me it would not work becuase my truck has no module for it. They told me to let them know how it turns out. That's the abbreviated version!

It's really just parts stores in general. It's sad when people go in there without a clue what they need.

The guy that had sold me the wrong part actually went out to my truck, wrote down the VIN and looked it up in the computer. He said "see, right here, it says that is the right handle for your truck". Well, DUH! yes, that is what it was built with! I told him to go out there and get the number off a Lariat out front, look up that number and sell me the handle. he looked at me like I had lost my mind.

Sheez. What a goober. Makes you wonder how they sell anything.

My wife will be in Arlington tomorrow, she's going by Golfsmith to pick up a re-grip kit from them, $8.00. I'll hopefully have me some new grips on by Saturday.

Going to bed now.

Blue, if you think you have problems ordering one part, try ordering an entire front end for a different year truck...

8 bucks...If thats the case, you will be putting crap on your clubs.

If ya do it, do it right. Good grips cost 2-5 bucks apiece... Choose wisely.

8 bucks might cover the cost of the tape and fluid to activate the tape.

Just in case you read back and still don't get it, the $8 WAS for the tape and fluid.
