Let's start over......
well last night I got a lot of bit drunk. I had the great idea of making popcorn. Well it turns out this popcorn has been sitting for a while and all the butter was saturated to the bottom. Well I put it in the microwave and went back to the table and chilled with everyone. Next thing you know everyone is screaming and the popcorn in the microwave has caught on fire. So I opened it and there was smoke everywhere and I couldnt quit laughing. The house looked like a foghat concert. Def a proud moment. Then my cousins girl puked on the boat last night that was pretty funny too. She drinks like 3 bich beers and she's gone haha
Patrick, you know anything about clutches and standard shifts?

Clutch-1965 Mustang
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need some help, it's been too long since i messed with these things. I have a 1965 4 speed. It was built in 1986 with a high performance clutch and pressure plate, HiPo engine. When I push the clutch pedal to the floor, it feels normal but it is obviously not engaging the clutch as it grinds the gears. if i try to start the car in gear with the clutch engaged, it lurches, so no clutch. The car sits all the time, driven only 3 or 4 times a year. It has not been driven since about September and was fine when it was parked. Is this a throwout bearing? or has the pressure plate collapsed? What do you think? It has been since I put this one together, 1986, that I messed with a clutch.

Since posting that last night, I remembered that the fork that accuates the clutch plate is a known weak spot of the assembly. It may be that it has bent or broke. I have also been told that the pilot bushing could have frozen to the front shaft.

Are you thinking it''s a hydralic clutch? If so, it's manual, there is no fluid. If you mean the transmission grease, how would that cause the clutch not to engage?

pssht, I wish that's how our office was. There is dead time for me because the boss is in with clients, otherwise I'm scrambling to get Interrogatories & Requests for Production done/sent out. Monday I come in to draft a Brief on a Motion to Dismiss
. Boring. Especially on Memorial day.

Blue, I was thinking that it was a hydraulic clutch.
Bossman still hasn't told us to go home... Everybody here is bored and not doing a thing. Guys down in the office "annex" (trailer) were playing golf with a wad of paper and an old random club.

Yeah, I guessed that you thought that. I think I will leave about 3:45 or 4:00.

Both my manual transmissions have a hydraulic clutch, with the clutch master and slave cylinders hydraucally engaging the shift forks. Had to replace the master and slave cylinders on the Probe before. Piece of cake.
Switched the tire size on the 87 perf tune. All is accurate now.
