That probably makes the most sense - they scratch the crap out of the bed during the install process anyway so what’s the point? In fact, one could argue the best time to Line-X an otherwise clean truck is about a week before you put it up for sale - that way you have a pristine bed that creates a “halo effect” on the rest of the vehicle!

99% of the time my cover is a cover, dont haul much on a regular basis, so the small percentage of time when I do haul, the goofy isnt a big deal

Jim you should also check out doing a Bedtred Ultra. I absolutely love mine, and everyone that has seen it likes it too

Guess I felt guilty neglecting the Expedition. Waxed it, cleaned windows and wheels and treated the tires this afternoon. I’m pooped but feel good. It really looks good.

That’s pretty good for an old geezer like you....😂

Heck - I’m at least a couple decades your junior and routinely take 2-3 days to do a full detail on a vehicle - especially one as big as an Expedition!

Post some pics so we can see that old girl all shined up.....

I’ll try to get a pic tomorrow. We took her on some errands today. Grocery store, Walmart. It was fun driving it.

The key waxing it is it is to get the wax off before it gets too dry. Do a section at a time. Used Meguires Cleaner Paste Wax. Didn’t have to do anything under the hood or the interior so that helped.

Wow - you finally broke the 10k mark on that thing?!

Looks good - so rare to see a vehicle like that stay pristine over so many years because 99.99% of them were purchased to be family haulers that got run through by a pack full of kids! That body style is getting old enough that you don’t see a lot of them around even in well-worn condition - that’s the point at which a vehicle becomes fun when people see it and they’re like “WTF”.......😂

When you said you were thinking about giving it to your teenage grandson I kind of cringed because if that had happened it’s days as a unique time capsule would have been over pretty quick!

Actually it’s was/is our oldest granddaughter. She is 19 now and will be a Sophomore when school starts. That would be worse than giving to to the grandson! We just haven’t been able to handle how it would look in 6 months! Not after how we’ve taken care of it.

Yes - seeing it slowly deteriorate over time WOULD make it worse - rather sell it to a stranger so at least it would be “out of sight, out of mind”.....😑

Felt the same way when I was thinking about selling my Ranger!
