Started the prep work for the trip out East. Expecting to be about 3400 miles round trip. I hope it warms up out east, -35 tonight in a few spots along the way. I don't want my little turbos to get too cold, lol.

It was so cold here in Houston on Sunday morning that I decided it was the perfect day to whip-up a batch of my famous homemade Bean Soup! It was ready to go by the time the football games started at 12:00 and my son and I feasted on it throughout the day. Even built a big fire in the fireplace to cozy-up to during the Cowboy-Buccaneer game at night!

Real winter weather is pretty rare in these parts -- you've got to make the most of it while you can.......

Found out today my uncle passed away last Thursday. The idiots of the family let us know at 3pm today. The funeral was at 2pm. Mom took it pretty hard as any would loosing a brother and the way they did it. Amazing how family can treat each other over stupid crap that happened 20 years ago.

That's Awful! I'm never surprised anymore when it comes to family. I have a fairly large one and some are incredible people, while others will act in ridiculous ways.

Made two trips into the city over the weekend and got back yesterday evening. Sunday turned out to be a nasty day with rain..wind and temps dipping into the 30's. Wife and I did some shopping on the way back and took it easy after getting home. She's getting ready to go to work and I'm doing my housework and drinking coffee. I much prefer doing dishes and clothes then being on the road at 5:30 am heading to work...or coming in from work like years ago when I worked 6 pm to 6 am and then trying to sleep during the day. Mid 30's now but 50's this evening so that's not bad.
