I laugh at all the people who are rushing out to buy big SUV's right now because the price of gas is low, and in another couple of years these same folks will be desperately trying to dump them at a loss when the price of gas goes back to $3.00+ per gallon. Most people are complete and utter idiots when it comes to financial issues......

If you are REALLY smart, now is the time you go out and buy a new compact or mid-size car because the temporary drop in fuel prices is making these vehicles "white elephants" on the dealer lots right now.....
The 2 large SUV's we had actually got better highway mileage then my pickups. Wife had a '97 Expedition 5.4 with a 3.31 rear and it would get right at 20 mpg hwy loaded down going on vacation trips. '99 Suburban with a 350 cu inch 5.7 and a 3.42 rear got the same 20 mpg and loaded down. Both got around 16 mpg in town and is what my truck gets right now. The best my truck gets is 19.5 hwy. MawMaw's new Infiniti QX-60 with a 3.5 engine is averaging 23.8 since new and on a highway trip should get up to 28 mpg. She could never drive a big SUV anymore because of tight parking restraints. They have a Nissan Juke for business errands that I drove on a 250 round trip errand one day and I swore that would never happen again! I prefer a large comfortable vehicle any day....

Our 2000 Expedition with the 5.4 always got better mpg than my 2005 Screw. It gets 19 on the highway. But, 2011 and now the 2014 both get better mpg than the Expy.

The Suburban had a 42 gallon tank and at 20 mpg had a heck of a cruising range. We would take it on long trips all the time and was very comfortable. The new pickups get a lot better then the '84 F-150 I had that was lucky to get 15 mpg on the hwy with a 302 and a C-6 3 speed automatic.

Thinking about doing a lil exhaust work this upcoming week. 80 percent sure I want to remove the resonator and put a 3inch pipe In its place and remove the flex pipe and replace with 3 inch. Then it will be a ture 3 inch system all the way back. It should give it a tad more volume and some more whistle on cold starts.

I did the bolt on Ford resonator delete pipe. Its a tiny bit louder, but still very quiet system overall

I think the delete pipe is still a 2.5 inch though. Figured full 3 inches om resonator and flex would help a tad more.
