Nor would I, however there are tons and tons of posts all over the web about 5.4 3V's in trucks and SUVs making the noise mine was. Ford even said in a TSB to put in 10-40 to see if it goes away. That's too extreme to me, but after doing some researching and reading all sorts of people putting tons of mileage on the 5w-30, I'm not worried.

The trucks at a different dealer than I usually take it to and I about had a panic attack this morning at the thought of the dealer flashing the PCM with my high HP tune in it.

After 70K miles on the 3V 5.4's I don't think going to a 5W30 would hurt..especially during the hot summer's. I ran the 5W20 MC Syn Blend untill 50K miles and then switched to Mobil One 5W20 untill I had 100K miles when I sold the truck. Never had any problems with that 5.4 in the '04 Lariat I had. Ford told me the new close tolerance engines needed the 5W20. Glad your engine is running better!

That's my thinking too. It's a piece of machinery... they don't wear the same. Some mine have larger amounts of wear than others? Between fixing the crappy driving and having a quiet truck (so far) I'm on cloud 9 right now

Turbo's and black smoke mean power.. Something you V8 guys know nothing about

Was looking on LET's website and a bone stock Eb with tune only dyno'd at 379hp 451tq..

Another Eb with DP's, I/C, intake, meth, fuel pump, E40 and LET tune dyno'd at 452HP 531TQ.

I think it may be time to put some parts on the ol Eb
