Let's start over......
- Maybe it has some sort of airbag in it?
Had a full and tiring day yesterday. Walked Maggie then drove to Athens, 26 miles, got the oil changed and tires rotated, paid the electric bill, and had the chain saw checked out. Drove back to Bronsboro to the little grocery store that makes the great burgers and had lunch. Went to the house, loaded up the mule with my equipment and went to the farm to cut down some dead pines. My father in law built a small cabin about 55 years ago, all with hand tools. It's still pretty solid and is in a small clearing near the pond dam. It's surrounded by pines and there were three tall dead ones, that if the wind blew just right, any one of them would fall on the cabin. Wore myself out taking those down and making sure they fell just right. One was particularly scary, just missed the outhouse by about a foot. My saw was a tad small for one of them, but got it down, pulled on it with the Mule. Then went back to the house, loaded all my gear in the truck plus all the stuff we needed to take to Burleson and then drove the 126 miles to Burleson. Unloaded the truck, walked Maggie again, ate some dinner about 10:00 and got to bed about 12:00. Full day for a slacker, I was tired. Had to come to the office to rest!

Thanks. Always satisfing to me to work out there. Weather was perfect, about 81. I study that little cabin and think of what a project that was with no electricty or running water. The lumber is still solid. Wood burning stove, bed and a table. He was a fireman and would have several days off at a time. Would drive to the farm from Longview in his 1953 Chevy pickup, anout 70 miles. Built the pond, the cabin, fences and raised some crops. He did have a tractor. Nearest neighbor was a cousin about 1/2 mile away. This was the old family farm where he was born.
