ive heard it all from 6-18 so im estimating 10-12. oh well.

It's a 4r75E with 145,000 miles on it. Last week the torque converter started making noise, like it was chattering, when it would lock. The noise wasn't consistent, the truck didn't run any different and for as much of a racket as it would make it didn't make any vibrations at all.

Now it sounds like there's about 4 dozen loose bolts rattling around in the tranny when you put it in gear.

I'm going to go with a remanned unit from Ford and hopefully have it installed next week.

When I bought the truck the CarFax said SOMETHING was done with the tranny at 84k miles and then again at 89k but it didn't state what. I always assumed it was repaired but I don't know what was wrong with it.

Yep, sounds like it lost it's marbles

Great choice! I'm not sure there's a better one. - Since those are just like or better than new.
