I can get a reman tranny from Ford for a little over $1500. I'm trying to decide if that's what I want to do or if I should go for a built tranny, I'm going to call around this week and get prices. I only want to go through this once.

From the ct scan results mom has stage 4 colon cancer and a few other tumors on liver and lungs. Not good. She'll have more scopes and tests done and then see what comes next (chemo and radiation I'm sure). Long term prognosis isn't good.

I guess it's not a bad TPS then. It's been known to happen.

That would suck if it was, -specially after swapping the trans out.

If it were the TPS, -it's logs right away on the KAM. Any dealership would catch it. How many miles on that trans ? It's a 75r right ? Haven't heard of any problems with them, yet.

Sucks, hope you find a good one. Don't forget to try, -

If a 4r75e is going to go bad it will usually happen between 60k-90k....those trannies also can't tolerate any abuse in reverse....reverse is their weekest gear....

Will, I'm sorry to hear that but you've got the right attitude and it sounds like your mom does too. Keep fighting and praying!!

I've heard they're pretty reliable, - more than the 70w's, - unless of course your running a bad tune. Reverse huh, - yea, the R gear definitely requires quite a bit of pressure, makes sense. Thought they were better than that tho.

Best of luck to him. Hopefully he'll find a fair priced one.

Guy I work with bought a loaded out 2013 FX4 yesterday. It was the demo driven by the owner of a little country dealership, 5000 miles on it. DSG, sharp truck. He traded in a Honda Accord. What a change!
