Let's start over......
I stayed with him for about 3 months when I first started the East Texas job and was making the transition. Really glad for that opportunity for us to really get to know each other. He is one of the last few with the true pioneer spirit.

Hard to stay strong watching something like that happen to a loved one, and so quick! Sounds like you are close in the short time you got to know him better. The body is just shutting down on him, very sad. All you can do is be by his side, hold his hand and wish you could do more.
Yep. He has a screened back porch across the back of his house. We spent hours sitting on it watching night come on, talking about everything you can imagine. Then we would go watch whatever sport was on. He loves football but I got him to watching the Mavericks and the Rangers. He still fusses at me about how he can't stand basketball and baseball, but then he would ask me what time the games started. LOL

I have been quiet about it, but my BIL has been in the hostital for the last 10 days or so. We have been going there (in Tyler) everynight. His systems just suddenly started shutting down. He will be 81 in July. He was so strong and robust until about a month ago, just a real shocker. Got a call this morning that he could go anytime. No life support per his request.
Thanks guys for your thoughts and prayers. They've taken him off everything and moved him to a hospice center. Just a matter of how long he hangs on now. Could be anytime.
