Let's start over......
I was running down the highway this morning, cruise set at 68. Looked in my mirror and was rapidly being overtaken by a Smart Car. It passed me and was pulling away, then we started up a hill. Still on cruise, I blew by her(girl driving). We started down the hill and she went sailing past me. Not everyday that you get passed by a Smart Car.

I would hate to be involved in a collision in one of those things. Saw pics of where one hit a Suburban, not pretty.

yea i much prefer a car that stays on the ground and doesnt rotate almost two revolutions when it gets hit
we have the similar 3.0L V6 in our Escape, and the whole time we've owned it we've averaged 22, and have gotten high 20s on the highway, and once got 33 on the highway (at 60)
i dont know the power numbers on the 3.0 but its plenty of power for the Escape
I was making a delivery not to long ago and I was driving our 10 ton flat bed with the cruise set at 63. I come to a passing lane and this little Prius goes blasting by me like I was standing still I couldn't help but laugh.

I'd think the smart car would be the looser....

There aren't many cars/light trucks that are going to win if involved in an accident with a 80,000lbs semi. The logging trucks up here are pushing 125,000lbs plus and I've seen the damage done when a car is hit/hits one of them and it's not a pretty sight.
