We thought we had a mouse in the house, night before last. Maggie was siffing all around the utility room where her crate is and where she sleeps and then, later, my wife saw the end of a black tail slide under the door to the coat closet, in the hall. She openned that door late last night to get the vacuum cleaner out and there was a Copperhead coiled up in the corner. So, at midnight, I had a shovel, killing a snake and tossing it into the woods. I think it came in the washing machine drain pipe. It was 2 1/2 to 3 feet long. A copperhead bit one of the neighbor's dogs and they have killed several behind their house. I hate snakes!
