Slow day in here, must be a busy day in the office and out in the field today.

Got my truck back...

So they dropped my pan, changed the filter, cleaned the pan and added oil. It says on the invoice:

1 Trans oil filter kit
7qts of oil
and 1 Lubegard Platinum

Came to 205.37

I'm a bit confused... I hope the gasket they used is ok (I had mentioned reusing the oem one, can't tell if they did or not) and the Lubegard is supposed to change the oil to Mercon V. Is that going to be ok? I thought they were doing a fully fluid exchange, not sure what happened there (I was originally quoted at 240).

Trans pan gasket is reusable. It says so on the pan. I know because I saw mine about 1000 times the last two weeks.

Does anyone know why they quit putting the drain plug on the Torque Converter? Kind of upsets me to be honest.

No idea... hopefully the work done is sufficient for now. This shop seems to be very well liked from the reviews I read online and it's a nice looking place too. Gave me some shirts as well. I'm starting to think if you just drive the trucks easy and do pan drops and change the filter, clean pan, and the oil inside it, you are fine. It sounds like as long as it's red, you are good to go. For most of us, we don't abuse the trucks, so a complete fluid exchange might not even be necessary

I know when I first got my old truck I just dropped the pan and filter and didn't notice any difference. The next year I drained the TQ along with dropping the pan and changing the filter and noticed a difference in shifting. I did it once a year and noticed better shifting every time I did it.

I'm sure you're fine though. Either way you got new fluid in it.

They might have used the Mercon V and just added the LubeGard because I've been reading some shops do that too for added protection. LubeGard's products seem well respected too... haven't read a bad thing about them. Hopefully it is all good and then maybe I'll do the TC another time. Next up is the rear diff. Going to get a quote from ford and this shop on it for later in the summer at some point
