Don't know if you know this place or not, but it's the glass plant in Simmsborro, La. I will be in the maintenace department if I get the job.

they are there strictly for emission control verification purposes.

As is a lot of stuff on the vehicle, EGR, EVAP, 02 sensors with heaters, PCV, etc all helps to have a more emissions friendly vehicle

So then say they were shut off... would the inspection sticker test be able to tell when they hook the scanner up to the computer for diagnostics?

If they would be turned off via a tune, they would just be seen as "not fitted"

some cars come without some emissions devices, you aren't required to have them all, just that if you have them, they are working properly.

alot of diesel guys do EGR delete, and have it turned off via a tune, and it shows as if it never came with EGR in the first place

I just always thought they had more of an effect on the emissions system... like if you didn't have them on you'd be unaware of issues. But like you say, the front ones catch it.

Off to bed
