The four wheel drive quit this morning on my truck. Anyone have any ideas? I have vaccum because all the functions work for HVAC controls and the vac pump does not run all the time.

Thanks guys, I tried something that I heard on a Super Duty forum that I belong to. I turned the hubs back and forth a couple times and it worked so I think I need to take the hubs apart to clean and lube them really well.

Everytime I read about you 4x4 guys having a problem, it makes me glad I have not given in to the pressure to get one. I have saved lots of $$ and Excedrin.

I will take the expense and headache of owning a 4x4 over a 2wd truck any day of the week up here. I tried a 2wd Ranger for one winter and it got traded in on April 1st for another 4x4. It's the right side hub getting sticky so a cleaning and lube will cost me a Saturday afternoon the dealer won't even see the truck for this issue.

If I lived up there, it would be different. I don't know why there are so many 4x4s around here as they seldom need it, even going across a pasture.

That's another thing, I was smart enough to be born down here and too lazy to leave.

If I lived down there I would own a 2wd as well and have a four wheeler or a Rhino or something to go play off road with.

I think I'd have traction issues even if I had a 4x4
