Dave, is deer more popular of a meat in the states? Not to many people care for it up here. Ive had it in a stew before and it wasnt that bad. I guess it all in how you cook it tho

It all depends on the area I have had bear, moos, elk, and deer and I like them all. You are right though its all in how its processed and how its cooked that makes the difference. I had some wild game meat loaf at my friends camp not to long ago that was out of this world.

Bison is good but it's a bit of a chore to cook in hamburger form because its so lean. We can get Bison locally here as well but my wife won't eat any wild game so it kind of limits when I can eat it.

I've had both good and bad tasting deer meat.......
Processing it and preparing it all comes into the final taste outcome along with what their summer food supply was.
Shot some deer in western South Dakota a few years back during drought years........we tried everything to get the sage taste out of the meat and couldn't.....last year there was no drought and the meat needed no extra treatment.......it was good.

I mix it.
50/50 mix with 80/20 beef hamburger and some bacon added.
Everyone thinks they're eating bacon burgers......

Thanks for the idea but I am still not going to try and feed it to my wife though. She has threatened me with death if she catches me trying to feed her wild game.

The ole ford did me proud this weekend. Towed right at 24 yards of road base material and she never missed a beat. No it wasnt all at one time. I spread it out over a few loads. Loven the fx4.
