Let's start over......
Buick made the Grand National. Then they made a stripped down version with the same running gear and called it the T-Type. It was chaeper and was a factory hot rod. I had a friend in Abilen, the guy I raced a lot, that would load his slicks in the truck and drive the 125 miles to Fort Worth and race on Friday night. Get a room and then go the 40 miles or so to Texas MotorSports at Ennis and race on Saturday, then drive the 3 hrs back to Abilene. This was his only transportation. He had about 20 different chips for it that he kept in the glove box. Would change for various conditions.

Sweet cars. I liked them better than the GNs, I guess because they were just all business. I have a neighbor that has a GN with 20,000 miles on it. 1987.

I remeber when she wrecked it, she called me and asked me to come pick her up. I said what for? She said I wrecked the car. I asked how bad?
She got pissed!
The truck did not start out to be a race truck. I just built it as a street driver. Then got into the show stuff and did that for awhile. Got tired of it and started changing out parts to make it go faster. We did a lot of street racing around Abilene, so I enjoyed playing with it. It would never have been a first choice had I been making a serious racer. But, it was so much fun to win when you they were not expecting to lose.
