I saw that but I don't even want to mess with it. I only have tommorow off and my dad is asleep and doesn't know at this point. Should I program the truck back to stock tomorrow to be safe until this can get done?

If it would make you feel better, go back to stock, but I doubt that there is any damage going on at all.

You have a K&N dropin don't you? You haven't serviced it recently have you?

Yeah the truck was gone through when I got it. But the truck gets low in the rpms and the engine seems like it wants to stall when it does this. The truck is 5 years old with 43k on it now, so I'd say the TB needs to be cleaned as it idled low to begin with and it seems the same thing has happened to many many people and then it is exacerbated once the tuner is installed. I just don't want to get stranded.

Mine is almost as old and has almost 96,000 and the TB has never been cleaned. Did you adjust the idle with your Gryphon? Before I went to the trouble/expense of cleaning the TB, I would adjust the idle up. Mine is set at 750 to 800. Has been since I got the Edge.

Oh how do I do that? I thought of that, but saw this.

Is it easy to do?

Sure it's easy. Just a setting. Go into the custom settings and click thru till you come to the one that says Idle RPMs or something like that and click the up arrow till you get to add 200 rpms. You need to check the manual, see what it says. Been 3 years or so since I messed with that.

Ok thanks Blue. Let me ask you this then. Is it normal that my truck when it is very cold does not want to downshift after I first leave from work? It takes a bit and then it drops down after I back off when driving throught the parking lot at low speeds. It also takes some time in order to get into OD in the cold. Is that because the truck needs to warm up even more?

Does not sound normal at all, but I cant help you on that one. Have you had the transmission serviced or flushed?

It takes a while for the transmission to warm up. Mine does this and has always done it when it's very cold and I consider it normal.

Ok that's what I thought. The truck was hesitant to start when I used the remote today when leaving work (10*F) So I will try the idle and if that doesn't work then the TB I will have looked at.

The truck did the low idle once I shifted into Park. That makes me think it might be adjustable with the idle setting. I'll try to put it at 750-800 tomorrow.

John, my F150 did the same thing when it was cold and the dealer told me its part of the programming to protect the tranny. The other thing it could be is you need to add transmission fluid it happend once on my truck when it wouldnt shift right.
