I'm thinking about starting on my intake and yeah a drill will probably be the tool I use as I don't have air compressor here

I was in Home Depot, yesterday and they had a special promo. A Ryobi impact and a drill, both in one bag for 99.99. Are they just junk? 18v

yeah it'll breath real nice when it starts revving up good, when used on a N/A 5.4 it moved the power band up a lil' in the RPM range but under boost and with trick flow heads spinning to 6 grand or higher it'll be right at home

Sal @ PSP built a prochrged Lightning that out performed the whipple trucks and I've improved off of his ground work and I'm sure my work and research is going to pay off when it's all done

I'm also considering buying a shortbed regular cab truck and making a real sleeper

with each panel a different color, possibly a lightning body kit but no badges of any kind except for the blue oval in the grill and tailgate

Sleepers can be fun. Probably the best sleeper I ever saw a a few years ago when I was in high school. Well, it seems like a few! A buddy had a 1952 Ford four door sedan, light grey, hub caps etc. Just a typical old folks family car. His dad had been a race car mechanic on a national level. Under the hood was a pristeen 53 Chrys Hemi. It had uals but stockers, one cut off short so it was not seen. Had special springs front and rear and a built transmission. Keep in mind that this was 1959 and 1960. Top it all off, the kid looked like a nerd. That car would scream. It would boil the tires when he hit second gear. You would not believe the 57 Chevies he ate.

I love sleepers

my neighbor and I built a beetle on an butchered jeep frame with a narrowed 9 inch and a early seventies F-100 front suspension

we used a weind 6-71 blown 454 up front and the driver had to sit in the backseat area, that "car" was so fast it would get squirly at 100mph when you punched it

one day I'll make it back to my moms and dig out the pics, after he died his kids parted everything off his "lab" they could including his truck, it was a mid seventies chevy 2500 with a pontiac 455 under the hood, west coast mirrors and wide mudflaps with old bearded man driving it would lay the smack down on v-6 mustangs and the ever so popular ricers in town

his other driver was a *****'s pickup with a 'vette 327 muncie 4 speed power plant it'd smoke all 4 tires if you tried

Wow. I would love to build a sleeper. I would love to take a 2003 F-150 Lariat 2wd and go to town on it. I know squat about engine as mechanical aspects right now...

in 13 months I'm going to start looking at auctions for a short bed regular cab truck with a salvage title and see what I can find

if I find a newer truck '04-'08 with a 4.6 I'd take it and swap in my 2 valve 5.4 and consider swapping the rear end for an expedition independant rear set up and go for road comfort with a/c and cruise control, no reason to lighten a vehcile when you can just add more power

I bet you could find a '97-'98 XLT and have a good starter base

That may be a fun project for me after college. Still got a ways to go. ONce I would be able to get settled, then the big projects would happen.

a D1sc, a 6.0 stock intercooler and fuel mods would make a 6.8 scream with the diesels on the hills while towing

I always wanted to build a '00 cobra r clone as well

so many ideas so little time and cash
