It's one of those yellow range ***** with the stripes around it. I'll take it to Ethan and give it to him tomorrow when we go out hitting *****. I'll tell him they are racing stripes.

I had a 51 Ford coupe before that. Sold it to buy the 54. It was a fun car. My first car was a junker 50 model Plymouth. My dad bought it for $50, we (he) rebuilt the engine and I traded it for a 51 Pontiac coupe and got $85 boot. Traded the Pontiac for the 51 Ford with no tranny, and got $100 boot. So I had nothing in the 51 Ford except labor and a $25 tranny. Sold it for $295. Bought the 54 Ford for $600. My aunt loaned me the difference, which I repaid at $5 a week. I was 14 and working after school and summers. Paid $150 for the T-Bird engine with 5,000 miles on it. I tried to find the 54 a few years ago. Heard it was in a wrecking yard in Weatherford. Didn't find it. I kept it till I was a senior in college and had my son. Needed something more dependable by then.

Yep, every time I have run across a 54 coupe, I think I should buy one and build it.

I had some fun cars back in the 80s. I was into restoring/ building Mustangs, my 65 Galaxy and my 54 truck. At various times, I had a 56 truck that I put a 460 in, we put a 69 Galaxy front clip on it. Had a 70 Boss 302, a 67 Shelby and 6 Mustangs besides the 65 I still have.

That would be fun. I think. I need to get the gumption up to replace the clutch in my 65. I liked tearing down and building engines. I just don't have a place to work now.
