Any plumbers here? Toilet problem
There is a toilet in the basement of our house that is having a problem. After flushing, the water level in the toilet bowl rises to a normal level and the tank fills with no problems. Then very slowly the water level in the bowl will drop until there is just a little bit of water at the very bottom.
Any ideas as to what is happening or how to fix it?

Is someone drinking it?
Is there a trickle of water still going into the bowl?
Try bending the float so it shuts off the fill up a little later.
When flushed the water rushs down into the bowl and the momentum as well as the siphon effect is what has all the water run through, when the air is starting to get sucked through it stops the siphoning effect. So adjust the amount of water flow as to enhance the siphon effect and the resulting air suck breaking the siphon suction.
Changing the amount of flow will stop the continued siphoning of the water in the trap.
Not really explaining myself well here but I hope you get the idea..

No, I don't think anyone is drinking it.

There is no water trickling in from the tank.
All the internals are plastic (unlike the older ball float types) so I can't bend anything.
How well does the tub drain, as that would also be on the same drain and on the same main vent ( counting the overflow as a vent)?
We prolly all jumped on this from experience and boredom
The tub drains fine.
