The city government of Fort Worth sucks!

I recently had a warrant for my arrest issued by the city of Fort Worth. For a speeding ticket from three and a half years ago! I called them, and they canceled the warrant. Why? They duplicated the speeding ticket. Their computer showed that two tickets were issued...by the same cop, same time, same day, and same location. One of them was dropped due to my completing a drivers safety course.

The person I spoke to tried to make me feel like an degenerate. She said that I needed to take care of my affairs, and problems of this nature would not occur. She changed her tune once she figured out that it was the cities mistake. I asked her to fax or email me something as proof. We spent five minutes with her assuring me everything was copasetic.

WRONG! I get pulled over for speeding in my home town...the officer explains to me that I have a warrant for my arrest, and that he should arrest me. Claimed that he was not bored, and was writing alot of tickets that night. Taking me to jail, meant undo paperwork. Besides, he did not care about a warrant issued in Fort Worth. I like to think I got out of going to jail, and receiving a ticket speeding for less than twenty over the limit when I was doing thirty over, (Anything over twenty mph excludes one from defensive driving) Also did not get a ticket for an illegal pass, (Damn Troyer tunes) because I named dropped a high ranking officer that lives down the street from me.

Anywho, I drive NINETY miles round trip to Fort Worth to get this warrant issue resolved. (90 divided by 13 miles a gallon = 6.92 gallons x $3.25 = $22.50 in gas) Turns out, when ya get a warrant issued for your arrest, they issue two. One local, and one regional. Who knew? I have never been to jail...

So I asked for reimbursement... Fort Worth made the mistake of issuing a warrant, and not taking both off of my drivers license number. Needless to say... They did not pony up the the coin I was out.

Am I crazy? What do yall think? JBMX need not respond...

You would think there would be a way to keep the criminal element off this site.

yes, you are crazy!

asking (and expecting) to get paid back from a city employee is like banging your head against the wall.

just what we need, the people at the dmv handing out reimbursements. city would be broke in 60 days.

So then, if you would have paid the ticket instead of letting it slide for 3 years, none of this would have happened?

Did you read the entire story? I took care of the ticket...I took a driver safety course, and the city dismissed the ticket. The problem was that they duplicated the ticket...and sent me a warrant for my arrest 3 1/2 years later! Paying the ticket would have made no difference...it would still have been duplicated.
