I get the mail. Sometimes they don't even put the right truck on the form.

My cert. used warranty is good for another 5 years. Why would I want an extended one?

Telemarketing to cell phones is already prohibited. There is no need to add those numbers to the no-call list.

The "talk" you refer to was due to people not understanding a specific industry proposal, since abandoned, who then broadcasted that misunderstanding via email chain letters.

True, it is illegal to telemarket to cell phones IF you use an automated dialer system. It is not illegal if you do not.

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2005/04/dnc.shtm

FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent.
Also, even though it has not happened yet, there is the possibility of a national 411 system by Quest for cells.

To the OP, call the dealership and tell them they need to make it stop. I got calls from all sorts of different companies (sometimes at 4 in the morning or at 9 at night) asking me when I was going to bring my car in for service at the almost out of business Jackson Ford. I called the service manager and told him he had better make it stop since all these companies had to be getting my name, home phone, and cell phone number from them.

As for the mail, you have to get a hold of who is sending it to you and make them stop. There is nothing the post office can legally do.

Reread his post. It is from other companies selling extended warranties, not from Ford. Also a good possibility they are getting your name from DMV. Many states have open records. Or the bank, etc, etc, etc.

And yes there is a way to stop mail also, at least those addressed to you. Don't have the information right now, but will see if I can find it.

Here is what I have found so far.

Even wiki talks on how to opt out.
