Got a new "little" mod today !!

I had my tint guy come on over to our house and do my windshield and my Mother's. The guy is damn good, uses Llumnar, comes to your house, and his prices are great. I only paid $60 per windshield. I got 50% on my Mom's car and 35% on mine. It made a HUGE difference in glare from the sun and keeping the car cooler. I'm sure it'll help the dash stay intact longer as well. Anyone thinking about doing it, I highly suggest doing it.

Nope, I'm going to take some during the day tomorrow because it's cloudy now and it'll make it look like it's 5%.

A 5% "Matte" Finish Tint.

I do, it's really not that bad. Factory tint on the rear windows of the F150s is 18-20%. I had a buddy who had 15% on the front windshield, now that was bad. I'm not 90 either, my eyes work pretty good. I've got excellent night vision as well but like I said, it's not that bad.

Don't jinx me man. Cops around here are more concerned with more serious crimes than writing tickets for things like that. I already know this thread might turn into one about how it's unsafe for the LEO. When I get pulled over, I always roll down both windows, turn the car off, hazards on, and hands on the steering wheel. I've always been complimented on it by LEOs and sometimes it gets me out of trouble.

Looks good. Does you tint guy make road trips to CA?

A buddy of mine had a 2002 Silverado reg. cab with 1% on the rear window, 5% on the side windows and 20% on the windshield... needless to say it was dark in there.

I have a 2006 Scab, with the factory privacy glass I guess... I want to go 20% on the front sides and a layer of 20% over the factory tint. I'd love to tint the windshield, but I know I would get pulled over in a hearbeat for that. Is tint a point on your record, or just a fix-it?

It's a fix it ticket here in Florida. I'd think it's the same else where but don't take my word for it.

Looks good and functional too, but with my $83.00 tint ticket for side windows of 15% in MO, I would never try that here. The only trouble I see with it is if you are forced to take it off, it will be a pain. It was all I could do to get all the sticky residue off my front two windows before I had them redone with 35%. No wonder it sticks so well, thats some tacky stuff.

Exactly, I don't have a problem seeing so no big deal. It's only a fix it ticket and I'm okay with having to spend another $60 to have it redone lighter and $10 to have this removed. I'm still cheaper than what everyone else wanted to do it.
