Got some great ideas. I am living in Oklahoma right now in Tulsa. So many people kept saying, you should have emergency kit in your car at all times and coat and road flares and this and that. I am thinking to myself, "man these people are over cautious" Well, turns out this year the biggest ice storm in history of OK came through and was at a national help level. Half inch of ice covering house, road, grass. Was pretty insane. I was driving home from work a couple days after it was safe (tons of ice/snow still everywhere) and ended up in a ditch (along with about 10 people on way there and back). I REALLY wish I had a coat/sleeping bag and flashlight and road flares and bottled water. Could have made that 1 hour wait a whole lot less grueling. Some thing I am planning on keeping in my toolbox when I get is:

Jumper Cables
Tool Set
Flashlight/batteries
Road Flares
De-Icer
Windshield scraper
Coat and Sleeping bag
Bottled Water maybe
Lighters/Matches
Fishing Pole/Tackle Box (If it will fit)
Tow strap
Gloves

Something else you might consider people is a AC/DC Power Inverter. Plug it into your cigarette lighter and you have a instant power strip.

Great for running multiple lights, etc...

ohh, i also have a pair of leather work gloves, an emergency blanket, and my trusty 5 1/2" pilot survivial knife. i also have one of those disposable seat ponchos in case i get muddy. i have an extra 20 degree sleeping bag in the basement. i might throw that in the toolbox if i have room.

im hoping to get a CB and antenna and a first aid kit. i probably should put some matches and stuff inside too.

Only carry two things in my toolbox, a hammer and a big hammer.
If I can't fix it with a hammer I get out the big hammer.

If that don't work, I have a cell phone and I got my momma on speed dial.
