Recently while listening on my commute home from work I was listening the the BTLS show in Sirius Channel 101! Actually it was yesterday! I guy who works as a Mechanic for American Airlines, calls into the Show, using a false name & electronic voice protection,he calls into the show and states the following! "American Airlines is flat out lying to the American Public about their recent plane inspections." The planes are down because American Airlines is on the bring of Bankrupcy & cannot afford to keep the planes in the air because Jet fuel is $6.00 a gallon! He also stated that his well paid job as a Jet Mechanic is slowly being farmed out to lesser paid Mexican Mechanics who work for less pay in his particular maitenance shop! The only airline making a profit right now is SouthWest, because they had the Capital to lock into a lower price of Jet Fuel by pre-paying for it at a earlier date! The Economy is in much worse shape than they the Powers at Be want us to know & Corportate America just wants us to sit in Airport lines believing their crap!...................

 

Good thing I only fly shouthwest

What an ignorant post. AA may well be on the brink of bankrupcy, but that has nothing to do with their planes being grounded. The FAA gave AA a deadline to inspect and if needed fix a problem on a jet that makes up half of their fleet. They did not comply and missed the deadline... therefore the planes are grounded.

I'm curious which airplane is it that is . Some thing like that on a large scale would also make the manufaturer liable, at least to assist in the diagnosis and repair.
But what i'm wondering is how many of these same model jets are flying for different airlines?

The real story.

The guy on the radio has no credibility at all. First off, for a airline to fabricate a story involving the FAA is pure suicide. No one fabricates a story involving the feds and gets away with it. The FAA would pretty much kill AA for involving them in a scheme just for AA to save their own butt.


Simply put AA's planes are unsafe and not to FAA standards, Southwest had the same problem about a month ago. Their is no smoking gun and its not to save money for fuel or any BS like that.

It's the MD-80, an older plane that most of the other airlines have already retired.

 

No offense dude, but every single post ive seen you make like this has been absolute BS. First the one about sat radio units not working after the merger, now this.....

 

I worked for a refueling company at Newark Airport a couple of years ago and all these major airlines have a line of credit with the refinerys and fuel companies.. The fuel they are burning today was paid for months ago.. They are trying to pay for the jet fuel they are going to be burning months from now..
