dont get that card.

If you want to stay in that price range, get this instead. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150247

5 dollars more, better core and mem clock. This was only a quick search, if i have more time later i might be able to find you an even better deal.

I definately agree with JBMX. The 8600 is WAY better, and just $5 more. If I were you though, I'd hold out for the extra $100 to get an 8800GT.

You can find a HD 2600 for about the same $$ or lower and it is a better card.

Best Video Cards for the money:

Go here to find compatible memory:

The 8800 GT is a great card but you'll probably need at least a 400W power supply to run it.

My 8600GT kicks ***. Handles Vista like a champ and my 24" LCD looks great.

I bought the 8600 and that memory. I really didn't want to spend a ton of money and since all I play is CSS, there's no point in going for something crazy.

I don't want to create a new thread for this question so I'll just ask it in here. I don't know why but recently my computer has started going into a standby mode to where when I move the mouse it's at the screen where I choose which user to log on. How do I stop it from doing this?

Control Panel/Display/Screensaver/Power/Advanced/uncheck prompt for password when computer resumes from standby

If you actually have a password and the above doesn't work go here.

Thanks Larry, I had to do what that website said.

I had already checked the prompt for password when computer resumes from standby and couldn't figure it out.

I doubt the stock Sony power supply can handle a video card much stronger than it came with.

Didn't you help me before when I was trying to figure it out? We came to the conclusion that my power supply is actually damn strong for a stock power supply and would be enough to power it. If not what power supply should I get?
