Quick Computer Question
Ah yes - I think I remember now. Disregard my reply to your PM!
Gotta remember, I admin a computer forum - I answer so many computer questions on a daily basis I don't remember who I've helped when.
Just be reasonable when you choose a card, it may be a high quality power supply but it does have its limitations.

I guess I'll find out when I install it right? You do remember talking to me about this before and deciding that it was probably enough, right? I'd really love if I didn't have to buy a new power supply but if I do have to get one which one should I go with for my system?
We may have to revisit that issue - I don't know if a "standard" power supply will fit in that case. Sony is famous for using proprietary parts.
Take a pic of the backside of the case, focusing on the power supply, and post it - and measure the power supply length/width/depth.

Here you go, I'm going to go grab those measurements.

Isn't that nice ... Right after I submitted my last post it failed. I just get a bunch of garbage on the screen so I'm pretty sure it's the video card. It kept causing CounterStrike Source to shut down because of an "internal driver error". I tried to fix it by updating drivers and clearing them etc but it wouldn't work. Anyways if you're looking at the power supply from the side of the case. It's 6.5" wide, 5.5" tall, and about 4" deep.

I guess it's okay if you don't ever doing anything to it but in this case it blows !!
So do you think I'll be okay with that video card? I tried to re-seat the video card, thinking maybe it'd help, now I don't even get anything on the screen. Now I wish I would of got overnight delivery.

That sticker should tell you the max power. As you do not have a lot of stuff in the box, I would guess a PS above 350-400 watts will be enough. Unfortunately, I could not see enough detail on the sticker to read it.
PS: It's got a maximum of 350ws.
The only issue with a new case might be finding a RF shield that matches the rear ports on the Sony motherboard, unless the shield in the Sony case happens to be removable or you can live with an open hole. It also might look a little funny if your optical drives don't have standard front bezels. Anything is possible with a hack job, but a new case should certainly make it easier to work on, the inside of that thing looks pretty cramped.
Well, IDE is going away, and you would be better off using a new SATA hard drive in a new build. You could take the old IDE drive and put it in a USB housing for external backups.
Just switching a hard drive with XP is not a no brainer, geo. The OEM Sony load won't work in a generic computer. Not doubting your skills, but I've been in this business for 15 years.
