HELP: Want to watch tv on my monitor

Hey. Might be a first here but i actually have a PC problem/question. I have an s-video cable, use it all the time to hook up my pc to my tv so i can play guitar hero and other games on my tv. Right now, im wondering how i can make that backwards, i want to be able to watch the picture from my tv on my monitor. I have the s-video cable, and i can either hook it up to my video card, or my monitor itself. Connected to either the monitor or the vid card, i get a "no s-video input signal" on the screen when i choose to view the s-video input. I do have the USB connection from my monitor to pc incase it is needed. I dont know what else to try. Anyone want to help? My monitor is currently connected to my pc through the white connection (DVI-D). It is a 2007wfp(?) Dell 20" Widescreen LCD. Thanks!

I don't think you will have any luck with that as all the connections on the back of every TV set I have ever seen is an INPUT connection. They only way you could do something like that is have some kind of set top tuner and use the outputs of that to your PC/monitor.

I was going to say a tv tuner card. Other option is if you have a digital cable or satellite box with an extra output and an input on your video card. Looks like you have it figured out though.

If you've got a cable box with an HDMI output, you can get a DVI/HDMI converter and use the digital in.

It works on all Scientific Atlanta boxes that employ HDMI unless your provider blocked the HDMI port.
