Im not much of a ppg guy, dupont is garbage, Spice Hecker(sp) is nice but smells like crap. My personal favorite is Dimont(sp) I know when I did a couple of Econoline bumpers I mixed up a dull clear. No shine but still has the protection of clear. Just mix your clear and put this dull clear in and mix 1:1 and lays out shiney and drys dull.

it still wouldnt be flat black even with matt clear. it would still have a shine to it. it has to be mixed 50% base 50% matt clear, which still puts the base on the outside and it will still oxidize and stain. matt clear has no uv protection either...

With that behind us, the customer has decided to go shiney black on top, and charger green split in the middle on the bottom half....

Wow! That is awesome... I am not really knowledgable when it comes to custom paint. Is there a clear coat added? Can you perform normal detailing steps to custom paint? (wash/clay/cleaner wax/polish wax/sealant wax/carnuba wax) I guess I just want to make sure I can maintain the paint.

Yes, you'll just need to wait a little while before doing any of that to fresh paint. The industry standard is about 90 days before waxing.

Built54 - what would a paint job on a '07 F150 with a similiar amount of colors and detail as on the boat cost?

prolly 10k for that paint job. You can do anything you want to the paint job after 48 hours. the clear we use locks up in 24, but 48 hours if our recommendation.
