eagle carrying a swastika

Ok i want to start off saying i am in no way racist or am i trying to start an argument or trying to disrespect anyone.

With that being said im am looking into getting a tattoo i want this eagle

with out the swastika with the eagle clutching a cross in its talons and it going to say Leavitt across the cross and have the rosary beads hanging around the cross. What my question is even thought this eagle wont have the swastika in it will this eagle be frowned upon when seen? By the way its going on my bicep.

I doubt many people would be able to place the Eagle. Now the ones that do might say something... In that case just reply "sieg heil"

Just kidding, I dont recommend that

That style of eagle screams German **** party, I would avoid it. Some folks won't recognize it but those that do will immediately look down on it. Imagine applying for a job and future boss of Jewish decent just happens to see it.

If you want to use an eagle why not an American or Aztec style?

Buddy of mine went threw the depth of Lowell and Lawrence with a confederate flag. Surprisingly he didn't get shot.

The eagle on its own represents power and strength. but is often associated with white supremacy

USA's Eagle represents freedom. Go for one of those.

I'm half German, and if I got a German tattoo it would be of a German flag, nothing **** related.

I like the idea but would look for a different eagle, like people are saying some people will recognize it.

Did a quick google search and found something similar

Has a similar wing spread and is the American Bald eagle

IDK if you will like it

Just a question. If you don't want an argument, why say anything at all?

That flag means different things to different people. I don't fly it; because, I understand that it is hurtful to some; but, I do not see it as a celebration of slavery or a symbol of racism. Though I understand that argument has merit.

It has a much deeper meaning, that has absolutely nothing to do with the degradation of others. It's a symbol of rebellion against tyranny. A symbol of sacrifice for your beliefs. The Civil War has been twisted into something it never was. It was never about keeping slaves, though it ended in the freeing of them. That's likely the only truly great thing that came from the conflict. The idea of "States Rights" was greatly diminished.

If you have socialist leanings, the federalization of our country may seem like another great thing that came from the Civil War. I could argue on both sides of that debate.

With or without the swastika, that eagle is clearly recognizable as a **** symbol, IMO. It will be offensive to many people.
