Bigot

: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

how do you interpret this?

i see it as someone who is unwilling to change or view other opinions on race or religion.

that means if you dont see both sides of the table you just belive your biased opinions your a bigot no ????

i want your guys input i am trying to understand?
i always look at both sides and there is always a good argument on both you just have to weight them out

you should have pride as long as it isnt putting down someone elses race/religion.

dont get racial pride mixed with national pride. cause i will put the USA over any country.

but i will not put a race over another.

see i got lucky in life if you ask me
My mother is White "German/Irish"
My Father is Black

all my life i have been the butt of soo many racial jokes. you know how many of my Caucasian freinds think i want to hear dumb black jokes.
and to make it worse when im around black people i get jokes because im light skinned.

because of this i think im am totally un biased racially. i dont like racism of anykind (toward white/black/hispanic/jewish.. etc)
i look at eveything from two points of view. i never answer my race when its asked because im human not black not white.

just an opinion from a less heard point of view
Brown pride is not the same as White Pride for the simple fact that it is pc for a hispanic to have brown pride, but white pride is viewed as racist among 99% of the population.

I understand that Islam is a religion and that Malcolm X was the leader of a "movement" but the premise is all the same in regards to this debate.

I def understand where you are coming from with your racial situation though my best friend's dad is black but his mom is Irish/American indian lol! Same thing growing up with him, luckily he has a great sense of humor

Great post!

I have formed views and opinions based on personal life experiences that would be viewed as racist and inappropriate by most. It is the ignorant bigots that would take what I have seen and been through and take it as absolute truth and accept no other argument or debate. I do see both sides of the spectrum and am able to differentiate between the two.

Obviously you have had similair experiences that have formed you bias or lack there of and thats completely respectable.

Its ignorance that should be feared not opinions or points of view

roush i have one too. (humor)
what im saying is. i view it the same. bp and wp. in southern california. the real mexicans (called essays) hate blacks more than white do down here. and whites hate mexicans alot. Blacks hate white. a circle of stupidity.

the reason people see wp as racism and not bp. is because most of the people that wear wp on there body use it as a racial display. that in california is tru.

at my high school you couldnt wear malcomx/any white pride/****/brown pride. non of it. but my school was very racialy seperated

i actually got shot at by two mexicans( i say that because they spoke no english) about two months ago. i had to get a new tailgate. why? not sure they just started yellin in spanish so i got out and they drove off. they followed me and shot at my truck

Farrakhan is a POS racist SOB. I would not be saddened if he choked to death on his vomit. Its my "right" to hate him, and anyone like him. Has nothing to do with his color. It has everything to do with him hating the color of my skin. I am an equal opportunity hater...everyone gets a shot with me

I think where we differ here is the fact that we just have been through different circumstances as it relates to race and our experiences with them. I was a police officer in the worst black and mexican gang neighborhoods Bakersfield Ca has to offer and I'll tell you what if that doesn't make you form a negative opinion I don't know what will. Bakersfield is just a scaled down version of south central l.a.

I began to hate too much, thats why I don't do it anymore or even live in that area.

To each his own...at least nobody got offended and we are able to debate this with intelligence and not ignorance regardless of our points of view.

sorry i just have to ask this again. the reason being is that i have had friends who love to ride the fence when it comes to race. they act prim and proper, like they were better than blacks, but when they were around their black friends, they acted hardcore thugged out. to me this is bull****. not saying that this is you, or you act that way. but i have no respect for people like this. you either are who you are and willing to stand up for it or you are nobody. just my opinion.

Exactly, I am a beliefist! I know that I should not hate, but its hard not to. Especially when someone spits in your face.

Here is an example not relating to the above:

I am white, and raised in West Texas. When I go to the Valley, there are Mexicans everywhere. Usually, I am the only white guy in the business or restaurant. Am I aware of it? Yes. Am I concerned? No...

I go to areas in Houston that are predominantly black... Usually, I am the only white guy in the business or restaurant. Am I aware of it? Yes. Am I concerned? Yes...

Why is this when a black man performed my nine hour cancer operation? Why do I feel odd in areas of Houston? I think its because I grew up with Mexicans and rednecks. I told this to a buddy of mine from New Orleans. He is just the opposite of me. Why? He grew up in NO.

Here is another. I went to Southeast Texas...This is the home of the Inbred Redneck Hillbilly. Rednecks, are OK, but add the Inbred Hillbilly part...and I get a little nervous. Did I feel comfortable there? Hell no! I felt afraid because I had all of my teeth and was wearing business casual. You may laugh, but I am dead serious. Skin has nothing to do with it for me, I am starting that I am bigot towards those without education, poor clothing choices, and bad hygiene...

My father is 100% German, born in Berlin during WWII. He is a history major, U of VA. All the men in the family before him were in the military in Germany. My father, being a historian by nature collects all the military uniform items, helmets, weapons, etc. from all his family members who were in the German military. He makes shadow boxes of all their earned medals, ribbon bars, etc. He has made shadow boxes from his own service in the US Army and for my grandfather (Mom's Dad) who was a US Marine.

Many of the items he collects have swastikas on them. Some of the items are from the SS. Does that make my father a **** or a racist? No. All that he is doing is collecting things that are part of my family's history. Other people may not see it that way, but it's only due to their ignorance. It's sad that that's how it is, but it's true.
