how to get rid of ants. last fall there was a swarm comming from the bathroom wall. Last weekend I opened up the wall and found indications
of an colony. If they are still lurking in the area, what is good to get rid of them and what can I use to keep them away?

Get in your truck and cruise around for an hour. By the time you get back they will have carried your wife and mortgage away.... problem solved

 

I suggest getting a exterminator in ASAP before they eat your house away.

 

Something is making the wall wet. They only live where there is moisture. Make sure all is dried out and they will go away.

 

Do you have any large trees close to your house? I have a pin oak whose canopy partially covers my house, which is great in the summer, but carpenter ants drop out of it, and come in. Some Diazinon around the base of the tree twice a year really keeps them in check, but an exterminator is the best defense.

Yes the wall is wet I am rebuilding the back wall in the bathroom because of the wet mold from the shower.

If I go cruising around for the hour the wife and house will be gone? If i get rid of the wife and the ants, I get to keep 1/2 the house.
