2.4 Ghz cordless phones interfere with 802.11b/g wireless whether they are in use or not. If you have them, toss them and get 5.8 or 6.0 Ghz phones.

It only bothers my 802.11b/g connection if it's in use. The rest of the time the phone sits on it's base 6 feet away from where the laptop is on the kitchen table and I don't see any connection issues. If it is bothering it than it's not enough to notice.
