We also have a Daughter and Son. Both are the world to us. Both are out of the house now, and we have 3 grandchildren. 2 girls and a boy.

Yes. It's actually a viable alternative for a healthy woman. But, did you know homebirths are illegal in 20 states? Our midwife was the 11th licensed midwife in California once they removed the restriction on it.

My wife is very tough, and I am so proud of her.

EDIT: I found out its illegal for a midwife to attend births in 13 states, the mother herself is never prosecuted. The 13 states are Alabama, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, South Dakota and Wyoming. It is also illegal for a midwife to attend in Washington D.C.

 

Congrats! Ours is now 7 months old -- what an amazing change in our lives.

I do have a question though. "Midwife"? I'm not following. Are we talking HBO's Biglove. I forget what thats called, you know multiple wives. I'm also not sure of sensativity of these things so I mean no offense in any way.
