Holy crap, $75 for a freaking key? I've been trying to make it to the Ford Dealership for a second key, just haven't been able to swing by when the service dept is open. Glad I found this out before stopping by.

Try having a VW. Their keys are several hundred dollars. The cheap valet key without the remote is over $100.

I had a stupid plain key made for my F-150, it won't start it (it will just crank, and will actually set a code if you try)

I just got it to keep in my wallet incase I lock my good key in the truck, or if I loose them outright I can still get inside to wait for someone to show up with my spare. It just a plain metal one, so it doesn't have the huge plastic handle to make the key 3x thicker than it needs to be.

Total cost was $2, and has saved my tail several times when the chipped key was locked in the truck. I did get a spare chipped key that was made at a dealership, it was $50 when I priced it but I got it for Christmas so it was free to me. It was $25 for the key and $25 for the programming when I had it priced.
