Need Some Opinions

Alright, so i've just about asked everyone i could so I might as well ask all of you. In May 2009, I will be graduating with my Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with Emphasis in Computer and Information Systems. Now, here's my question.... i'm looking at 2 options for after I graduate. Should I go to a different university and get a second bachelor's in Finance... or should I go for my Masters in Industrial Relations? I'm so torn about what I want to do.

ooo my kinda thread:

We aren't the ones that can tell you what you should do, only you can do that. Where are your interests? What experience do you have? Have you done any internships? You've got 1 summer left before you graduate, so right now is the time you need experience. Make this summer count, you'll be really glad you did when you start handing your resume out.

My advice for the second major: Instead of working 2 more years on another undergraduate degree, if business is your area of interest, start thinking about getting your MBA. Finance is covered in it, and you can also get an MBA with a minor in Finance or an MBA in Finance. Looking back, another undergraduate degree will not get too far. Employers want to see that MBA; Im going through that right now.
If you're considering graduate school, now is THE best time to do it. I graduated December 2006 with my BSBA in Management in Missouri, worked for a while and realized that I couldnt find anything that would bite on a BSBA degree that I wanted. Started grad school (MBA) in Mississippi last August and let me tell you, grad school is awesome...whole different environment than undergrad.

If I were you, jump right into grad school and get it over with...you're young, single and have nothing holding you down, so get your education finished. Employers pull for you a lot harder when you're in grad school, trust me. You will be so glad you did

Let us know what you decide to do...lots of good advice here

Yeah so I graduate in May with my BS in business management. My plan to get a full time job with the school so that I can get free tuition for my MBA. I'll work in recruitment, admissions, or as a academic adviser. I would like to be graduated with my MBA by age 23.

Why go for another bachelors degree at a different university? You could always just do a double major. Or you could get a minor in finance. Or just go get your MBA. Or if you can't decide, just go get a job. They might wind up paying for whatever you want to do with school.

I graduated in '05 with my BA in management. I had a good job lined up with Wal-Mart but didn't want to be a corporate slave. I went into teaching (middle school business ed), which I'm really enjoying, and am planning to have the school district pay for my masters. It won't be in a business related field, but it all pays the same here in scholar land.

I got the same degree, but I knew I was getting tired of computers and would get tired of programming, so I got a double major in Transportation & Logistics. I love it! I've had a couple of jobs in Logistics and have finally found the one I want to make a carreer out of. I work with Contracts(purchasing) for the government. Great job, great benefits with a great retirement. It took me awhile to find what I was looking for(28 yrs old now), but it was worth the wait.

Sounds like a good plan. You can't beat free tuition. I plan on getting a GA my last semester, but for now, the hardware store pays my bills

get it over with now- that master's will pay for itself in the future- just finished my master of architecture after my 5 yr bachelor of architecture- in may at the ripe old age of 23. can't tell you how good it feels to know that i don't have to go back to school in a couple years to finish off--like many of my co workers our age...

Thanks for all the great advise guys! Its one of those things I think i'm going to go for my masters.... i really like the MBA idea, I spoke with the university today about it. The reason i didn't do finance in the first place is i'm going to a small school now (total enrollment 1400)... and the reason i was looking at another bachelors is because i'll be goign to WVU (30,000 total enrollment).
