Well in may my dad told me I had 20k to buy whatever I wanted and I was torn whether to get a truck or stang. I have had the truck for a while now and he warned me about the gas mileage, but me being me haha. I really love my truck, but if I am driving all the time, I kind of want a car. I am just going to keep the truck for now. Plus we bought it for like 21k out the door and I could only get like 16k for it or something. Sometimes I regret the decision I made but I think the truck will still work out great. I can get a 2005 mustang GT at carmax for 19k with 33k miles on it. 27k is a little out of my range if I sold the truck I would be a little short
Did you have a short throw shifter on there by chance? That would be my first mod haha

I'd say keep the truck... in fact... I went the other way... I went from an entry level SUV (Escape) to my huge F150 and I'm still in college.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Wait.... I know... you gotta have a fast car.

Dude, I know how it feels... my V6 F150... ha... people laugh at me when I hold up traffic on the campus because it takes my truck 5 minutes to go from 0-30 mph. <<<< I seriously just bashed myself...

How in the world did your Mustang sticker for $37,000 !? I'm guessing it already had some mods done to it. Still, that's outrageous.

I say keep the truck. Driving out 66 and down 81 in a fast car is asking for trouble. The difference it costs in gas mileage would quickly be offset with one good ticket and our wonderful 'abusive driver' fees. That is not to say you can't get a ticket in your truck but hopefully you be worrying about getting better mileage and not trying to see if you can make it to Blacksburg in 3 hours

Also, I have a friend that was really into wheeling and know has done quite a bit of wheeling in that area of Virginia. If you end up at VT e-mail me and I will see if he knows some spots you could go.

Keep the truck, you think a Mustang will hold up on a college campus? Mine paint is looking rough after 4 years of on campus life. I know there has to be offroading around VT in the mountains. Also ODU has the outerbanks 30-40 mins away, where you can ride out on the beach. You can't do that in a Mustang. Try out the truck for alittle at school, if you don't like it then sell it.

Yeah really.

I don't know why people say their trucks are big... sheesh.. I need a longer truck!!! I wish mine was the 163" wheelbase truck... and I go to college.

In fact, I love owning a truck because it is long enough were it really ticks people off.

What's more awesome? A Mustang? Or your truck towing a trailer and parking it any old place? Or your truck being able to move all of the cars in that parking lot with your tow straps and turning them into giant jigsaw puzzle? Try that with a Mustang...

But back to reality... I've brought my truck and various size trailers to college and parked them on the campus lot. I like taking up 3 or 4 parking spaces and no one can say anything.

Oh, and not to mention, when it's winter time, we get all the people that have snowmobile trailers... as there are people with diesel duallys pulling 30' sled trailers and parking them in the parking lots. Man, we can fill a parking lot up quick. You'd swear there were more trailers than cars.

There would be no contenplating for me. The truck would stay in my hands. There are so many more uses for a truck then a mustang. But thats just me, do whatever you want to do man.

Yeah... I'd love a Mustang GT! Who wouldn't... but when it comes down to practicality, and long-term use... a truck can't be beat.
