I've experienced wind chills like this before . . .

but never where I've lived!

Moments ago, the temps here at home:

Brisk.

I was out working in it this morning in South Bend, Indiana. Groundwater flash freezes when you bring it to the surface at that temp... It was BRUTAL.

Yup, but not because of the cold. (I'm actually liking that.)

I miss the beach, Starbucks at Trancas, sitting at Pt. Dume and watching dolphins.

I'm missing having a thousand restaurants to choose from, the car wash I went to for decades (there are no full service car washes here), kick-*** state of the art movie theatres, CBT&L, Gelson's, low property taxes, and stuff like that.

I'm experiencing serious Malibu withdrawal.

What I'm not missing:

Traffic, waiting in lines for everything, traffic, rude obnoxious narcissists, everything in spanish, endless traffic, graffiti, traffic 24/7, did I mention traffic?

I can understand the withdrawals, it's a big change for you. I'm a country girl so I really don't miss all those things. Our house is 15 miles away from the nearest restaurant, movie theater, car wash...and those are just in the tiny town we live near. If we want state of the art we have to go to the city, that's 45 minutes to an hour away! I'm fine with that. I love the peace and quiet here and I absolutely HATE living in the city!!
