Great folks to deal with. I've gotten a few from them and I've never had a problem. A few of my buds have used them with no issues. The XD has some pretty good reviews and the few I've shot were pretty decent shooters. I think you'll like it.

If you like the two tones, here's a dandy out of the Colt Custom Shop.

It's a 1911 Special Gov't Match in caliber 38 Super. If you miss with it- YOU missed becuase the pistol won't. I've shot one inch groups with it at 25 yds and occasionally it will shoot under 1/2" on a good day.

I love my XD-9 so much I carry it with me everyday. I seriously like the bi-tone also. I didn't get it, but I would have if I could have found a good deal on one. I want another XD in either a 40 cal or .45. Good luck!

BTW are you ever going to get another truck? When I first joined this site, your truck and mods were alot of my inspiration. I just never had enough money to do all the mods you did.

I bought a Marlin and a performance center S&W from buds. Service was good. Shipping was slow. Some pieces can be found cheaper (still NIB) on gunbroker.

thanks for the advice, you too ernScott- might upgrade to faster shipping if I go their route.... i shot a few glocks and the xd's just fealt better in general... the 08 line is bringing the bi tone to the compact so i'm pretty anxious...

yea, my wreck hurt the bank account a bit (i'd been saving thru college and grad school for it-im 24) so, i'm saving again now for a new one- probably a late model 09, or a '10 looks to be in my future-

the Jetta's fun to drive and all, but its a pita to get in and out of (6'-4), and it can only go where asphalt leads... glad you liked it too!

I looked at the XD's and Glocks when i bought my Glock a few months back. I didnt like the height of the slide on the XD and it felt off balance. Also the XD isnt offered in a compensated version like the Glock. I went with a Glock 19c. Couldnt be happier.

Wrong. The XD does come compensated. You got bad info. XD calls it a V-Port

If you have shot a compensated gun before then you know it is strictly a range gun. They are extra loud for the shooter and not practical for conceal. The XD porting is a little different than Glock, but very similar. I shot a 40 cal XD with the compensated barrel and it shot very nice. It's all subjective to the shooter. I really like the Bi-tone on both the Glock and the XD. Maybe on my next gun...

Why would you say that they are not a good conceal gun? That is now my primary if Im not packing the S&W 637 38sp. I will agree that the compensated guns are loud as hell. Five shots with no ear protection and my ears rang and hurt for an hour or more.

Well mainly because the porting can snag on clothing and what not. Plus think about this scenario... you are in your truck, someone comes to jack you and you pull your ported glock/xd to shoot about waist high under your chin pretty much. Anything that is in that port will blast up in your face. Metal fragments and dust do blast out of those ports when you shoot including any other foreign objects.

I finally got a chance to look up the Compensated XD. It doesnt come in the compact size as the Glock 19c. It is 1" taller and longer. Not as good of a carry weapon for the little extra size. It still looks like a nice piece and will check it out the next time Im in the market. As for the gun blowing stuff up, hopefully I will never be in a situation that I will have to use it. I will be on the range with it some anyway and it looks awsome at night!!! Lots of FIRE!

Yeah my bad. I should have mentioned that. I see you have a 19. The compact 9mm seems to be a popular carry weapon among guys I know too. I carry my 4" service XD-9, but I don't carry concealed, only in my truck.
