neck pain

Any bone crackers in here? Does anybody have advise about seeing one? I'm not a true believer but my neck is killing me.

For neck pain, no.

I've been to a chiropracter for several years. It didn't work too well, so I then tried vax-d. That also didn't help. However http://www.vax-d.com/ has been known to help some people. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease at L4 level. In the middle of my back at the T3 area I have a compressed disk. Pain is daily. I currently take ultram. Its a weak pain medication, but due to my active duty status, narcotics are too risky. I like being able to do PT, or at least attempt it anyway.

As far as the neck is concerned, I'd see a Doctor of some sort before you go around trying to self heal /self medicate unless its just a stiff neck which will go away on its own.

Back pain is not fun.

Don't get opinions on here about your neck... Go to your general practitioner and get a referall to a specialist if needed. Get a CT scan if it is recommended to make sure there is no underlying cervical issue. If it checks out and your Dr. suggests it then go to a chiropractor. And don't go see Dr. Franko... I don't think he's a real DR. (sorry inside joke there at the end)

That will change when you get relief from one.

I see mine 3 times per month. I am always 2" taller when I leave.

Go to your family doctor and get a ct, or mri. I have had 3 neck surguries and i feel that the Chiropractor that originally treated me was partially the blame for my original injury. Don't mess around with the neck!

Thats been my opion also. I've had a mri already and they didn't see anything. I'm due back at the doc's in a month, just wanted to explore all options. Thanks for the advise.

Maybe some physical theraphy would help. Get a theraphist that specializes in myofasial release (massage) it works wonders. Some pain meds and muscle relaxers may help too. Loose any stress, it causes pain too.

Decompression Therapy

Decompression Therapy led me to a solution.

I was in TREMENDOUS pain. X-Rays showed that my spine was curved to the left and that my hips were extremely out of line.

Although, I ended discovering a simple stretching exercise that solved my EXTREME pain it was my Chiropractor who was instrumental in helping me find this solution.

While going to decompression therapy three times a week I came up with this stretching exercise and asked my Chiropractor what he thought. He said keep on doing it.

Decompression is kind of like traction where the vertebra are gently pulled apart. It is supposed to encourage healing of damaged discs.

Honestly, the actual therapy only helped a little if at all. It was a simple stretching of the muscles in my right leg that got my hips and spine back in line thereby eliminating my source of EXTREME pain.

Still, it was working with my Chiropractor that led me to the solution.

A lot of chiropractic treatment is (as others have said) bad. However it is not all cracking and popping and making things worse in the long term! Look into Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic treatment. It is no cracking/popping/rough stuff. It is a much better long term (permanent) route.

By all means..get a diagnosis before you try anything. Believe me, I've broken everything from my knees up, including five places in my back and three in my neck. Lots of quacks telling me lots of different things. I had so many MRI's, I'd stick to the refrigerator when I walked by. Tried everything from Accupunture to Anti-depressants, finally had C-7 rupture on me at 5:15 in the morning, while in bed asleep. Couldn't get in for surgery for a week! That was in Sept. 2002, and lost the use of my left hand for about two years. To this day, it is still all tingly and numb. I found a second doctor to repair what the first one f**cked up, and take care of C-6, which was also getting ready to rupture. I will never be the same, but at least I'm still able to do a few things. I keep hoping for a complete body replacement, just haven't been able to find a suitable donor!!!

Good Luck, and don't be impatient

If your like me and crack your neck alot I've made myself have booming headaches and bad neck pain from over doing it. Feels like it I crack just once more it'll go away but it don't. I just take a hot shower and rest it away I'm usually good in a day or 2 if I take it easy.

I was a skeptic until I saw one after an accident. My back was FUBAR'd and they got me back up and running. I'm going through the same process again now due to another accident.
