I am always worried about scratches on my truck. I park far away from others so no one parks next to me. I also cannot stand swirl marks. I did make the mistake of trying to explain them to my friends by describing them as "microscratches." Now I always get harassed by my friends when i tell them not to rub up or lean against my truck. They all are like "oh no you are going to get microscratches in your paint"

My truck will never go through a car wash that touches the paint. I remember how i had to fight myself to take it through a touchless car wash. But it really need to be cleaned and it was way to cold to do it. I hardly ever use a touchless unless its really needed.

Why spend so much money on something and then not take the extra steps to try and prevent them from happening?

Apparently you've never spent much time in this forum: https://www.f150online.com/forums/care-detailing-22/

I'm more worried about door dings. Scratches I do i can live with. Something another person does to my truck will be double the trouble to their vehicle. There was some asshat that parked right up against my other truck at the mall. If he had a passenger they would of definitely hit my truck to get out. because to get in my truck I would have to climb in the passengers side. Yea well I didn't do that. I fit and I'm damn sure he seen the the results of me doing this.

The other day it was very cold out, 14 degrees....my truck had been covered in Salt/Sand & needed to be washed! Looking at it was killing me being that dirty, so I took it to a local cloth/scratchless wash. Came out looking great, however upon closer inspection there were minnor clear coat scratches on the roof & right side of bed, had to coumpound them out! 1st time & Last time I use a car wash that touches the paint.........

Scratches, dings, dents, who cares? I call them battle scars.

Reminds me of a bumper sticker that I almost bought for a buddy who had a penchant for wrecking his Ranger. It said "This car has been in 15 accidents, and hasn't lost one yet."
