I hear ya..

That wheel pop off thing is a trip. I was behind a dualie truck one day, and I saw it jettison the right rear wheel as it was coming to a halt from 35 - 40 MPH at Frankford & Dallas Parkway. A lady was at the gas station, about to go south on Dallas Parkway, but traffic was jamming up the far right lane, she was blocked in and could not move forward, or back up. All she could do was sit there, and watch the tire come right at her, bouncing & spinning. That's all I could do too. It's like it all happend in slow motion.

It hit the driver door of her Nissan Altima, and put a HUGE dent in it. She never got out the car that I saw, and when the light turned green, the truck driver pulled off. I doubt he even knew he lost a wheel. She didn't chase him either. Looking back, I should have at least got the guys license plate number, then circled back to give it to her... Hopefully, someone did.

Another guy's front wheel just caved in on his Cadillac Deville, as he was making a right turn onto my street. The top half of the wheel, seemed to fold into the body, and the front left fender began to scrape the ground, sparking... He just kept driving it, until he got off the corner, and out of the middle of the road.

It's a trip to know metal and bolts can just give out like that.
