V6 with extended cab?
V6 with extended cab?
I'm wanting to get a used F-150 V6 for fuel efficiency purposes. I also want the second row of seats but can't seem to find one. Am I spinning my wheels? Does Ford only offer the extended cab in a V8? Thanks in advance for the help. Peter

They still make V6 F-150's. However, I believe the last year the V6 was offered in an extended cab was 2003 and *maybe* the 2004 Heritage (OBS). I know for a fact that there are 2002 V6 extended cabs, I just Googled and found one on Craigslist.
I have had two , a 97 and a 98. The top half of the bottem seat folds foreward creating a flat surface that is flat and works well for level storage.
It has a third door that is on the curb side.
Both trucks were the v-6 2 wheel drive posi axles.
In some the rear side windows push out. Nice trucks.

If you want a V6 and a Supercab, you have to buy a 97-03 or an 04 Heritage. The current body style of F-150 is too freaking heavy for a 6 cylinder, thus Ford doesn't produce it. I've heard you can custom order one with a V6 and Supercab but who knows what truth there is in that.
For what it's worth, the V6 probably won't get any better fuel mileage than a V8 will. The 6 has to work harder than the 8 to carry the truck down the road, more work = the same or more fuel used.

Do yourself a favor, get one with a V8. You will appreciate having the power available and as long as you dont drive like a maniac all the time, you can get the same gas milage a V6 gets.

if you buy the v6 f150 and use it the same way you would a midsize sedan then it will get better mileage cuz youre not using it for work.
