That is cool!
I love weather... that is called a "Altocumulus Mackerel Sky" They often form in front of a cold front as unstable air is lifted.

There is an old saying, "Mackerel sky, mackerel sky. Never long wet and never long dry."

This time of year, your likely to get snow soon.

Very nice.

(Although I would suggest some serious wire removal from some of those).

Don't you just hate that. I took some fantastic clouds pictures in Hawaii and England and those damn power lines always seem to get in the way.

I love the pic with your truck in there with the sunset.

This is a job for Photoshop!

Just one of the many reasons to praise the Gods of Adobe™.

I just walk a few steps forward though and it's much easier than spending a hour in photoshop. We should make a favorite pic thread.

Or a fave cloud thread:

Malibu, earlier this year before I moved:

As you can see, there are the ubiquitous telephone poles in the second pic. I couldn't move a few steps as I took it while I was driving up PCH.

all the pictures execpt for the one of my truck were taken while driving or at a redlight...so it was kinda hard to dodge the powerlines...unless i drove on the wrong side of the road

One of my favorite places to take pics is a little man made lake, that is rarely used, very few people know about it (just the locals), and it's not far from my house. It's beautifully undisturbed/undeveloped. EXCEPT...... It was made as a power station so there are power lines and huge racks of transformers spread over the entire area. Sooooo, when I get home from a shoot there, then it goes to PS to remove the wires and poles......
