Windshield broke....questions

I need a new windshield. In Florida your insurance covers it without any deductible. I am not sure about the laws in Texas. If I decide not to claim it under insurance how much do you think I am looking at to replace it? And will the replacement have the F150 logo on it like the factory one?

I did mine at the dealer for $300 Cdn.Don't know if it was OEM but it did have the logo and shading at the mirror

fact is, they are much cheaper when you pay cash versus an insurance claim.

I paid $341 installed for a Carlite windshield with the F150 logo. I would have had to pay my $500 deductible for my insurance to replace it.

I've had mine replaced twice now for free. Insurance premiums didn't go up either.

I have to replace mine. The local ford dealer told me to replace it, would be 275$ with taxes and labor included. If you dont have glass coverage, it will be your normal deductable. I am assuming it is OEM if it is from the dealer. But we all know what assuming does...

so I guess I need to call the dealer and se what they charge. I am thinking its better not to claim it as my insurance rates will probably go up. Well I am scared that they might anyway.

Mine is $100. I replaced 2 in my Explorer and repaired a rock chip in my 150 with no insurance hikes.

Glass doesn't make your insurance go up.

Get a quote from a glass shop before the dealer, the glass shops are usually cheaper and they might even go and do the job at your place.

I just had a large chip filled a couple of months ago, and it is questionable whether it will hold or split out this winter. So while I was there I got a quote from my glass guy on a new replacement. $125 installed, (2000 model though) but if it splits out he's taking the $25 for the chip repair off of it.

$300 here in Montana for my Expedition but i am not gonna bother next time even though i have a $100 glass deductible. A week later it was busted again. Every vehicle i own(4) has a broken windshield. I won't replace em anymore until i cannot see out of em...........

$50 deductible here too. Had 2 windshields replaced (not on the F150) but my insurance didn't go up either time.
