wood flooring gurus?
Directions say:
"RECOMMENDED UNDERLAYMENT (Floating installation system only): Bruce
ComfortGuard™, Armstrong Two-in-One Advanced Underlayment with tape"
Not even sure where I could get those two specific underlayments. They don't appear to be listed on Lowe's website, which is where I got the flooring.
No, we don't have radiant heat, and I'm not to concerned about sound deadening. I will check with Lowe's tonight when I go to pick up some stuff for the tile floor, and see what they have and recommend, but I'm still thinking tar paper could be the one for me...

Since you are laying this over wood, tar paper would be the correct way to go. I'd reccommend stapling the floor myself - you can usually rent one from your local H. Depot, Lowes, etc. We only float over cement with engineered woods and haven't had any significant problems in many years of selling and installing flooring.

BTW why do you suppose all the top laminate manufacturers don't use glue installations anymore? Too messy? Yup... Too costly for that bling bling elmers wood glue? Yup...
Just rent yourself a stapler and git 'er done. Better yet, buy one and do weekend installs for greenbacks on the side
