Not an escape but its baby brother 06 tribute
great lil car/truck for the money....looked at escapes but were too expensive for what we wanted so a friend happen to work for mazda and voila leather/auto 4cyl I 2wd power package for $18k OTD

Best part is it's still a ford no matter what the grille says
:UPDATE it's 2yrs old this month and has only 15k miles not a single problem ever and gets around 21-25 mixed driving
and the wife likes her music

Oh, I also forgot... the i4 mated to the CD4e is ok. It's just the v6 mated to the CD4e..

i4 with the MTX75 manual transmission and the CD4e should be fine and will last a long time.

But I notice the interior is still really cheaply constructed...

I aint gonna lie about that cheap isnt the word but for a girl it does just fine plus we put some denim material seat covers on there not too long ago so hopefully it will last till its paid off in another 2 yrs

What do you think about the '08? That's the one I was looking at.

I thought that'd be a nice swap for the wifey and her 37 mile one way commutes, then we could save the Edge for the long hauls. Right now, with the price of gas- the Edge is the commuter, and the F-150 is for long hauls.

2007 Edge SEL Plus: 3 months old, 5,500 miles

F150 XLT, 4.6L: 22 months old, 8.500 miles.

We just picked up a loaded 08' Escape this past weekend. It's the wife's daily driver and it seems to be a pretty decent, smaller, SUV. We traded in an 04' Yukon Denali so this is going to be an adjustment for us, but it was an adjustment we were looking forward to, ie: gas mileage. The V6 has decent power to get up and go in traffic. We got the 4wd option for the few times a year we get snow or ice but I can't comment on how it performs as I have yet to experience it. I like the interior for the most part. The leather seems a kinda cheap so I'm going to make sure I keep up on the conditioning of it.

I know this 08' Escape has been out for about a year now. Does anyone else have any pros vs. cons on it? Just curios.

I've considered the Hybrid. The 2WD has a $3000 tax credit, so the $26k MSRP comes down to $23k effectively. That's a lot of vehicle/technology for the money. All the other models < Rav4.

We like it a lot. Your not going to win many stop light races, but it goes good enough. (We got the small V6, I think it's a 3.0?) The tire noise is there, but over all it's pretty tight on the hiway. The little woman likes it,as she can see over the traffic better than a car, and it handles really well in the snow. I would compare it to a very well refined BroncoII. About the same size, with a llittle more weight to it.

I know its not the new body style but my dad has an '03 XLT (but with all the options) ... it has 190,000 on it... he puts a little over 55,000 a year give or take.... all i have to say is that thing drives like the day it came off the show room floor. He bought it new... just keep the maintanance up on it and it'll run forever. Another thing, they are VERY solid in the snow if you put the right tires on it (he runs the goodyear triple tread).

they always have made Escape Limiteds... my mother has a Limited 06 Escape. The only thing we complain about is the road noise.

That's true the road noise is pretty sad compared to my truck. I ended up using a roll of extreme dynamat on it and she's pretty quite now.
