In Crested Butte, everyday life consists of hitting the slopes, riding snowmobiles, playing hockey and drinking. That much snow only helps the everyday life!

Yeah, last years el nino kept most of the snow to the east of the front range (remember that huge blizzard in Denver?) and less snow in the mountains. This year's la nina should give the mountains plenty of snow.

Today it's coming down hard in Denver though!

I wouldn't say it is coming down hard here in Denver today, but at least it is starting to feel like winter around year.

Gonna take our snowmobile clubs new groomer up tonight to track up some new trails up by lake Irwin above Crested Butte. Over 100" in the past 5 days up that high. It will be dark when I get up there, but I'll try and take some pics. Untill then, here's some of it getting delivered back in late October.

I went skiing at Alta in Utah last year and saw a groomer buried in snow and they were trying to pull it out with another one. They had gotten an ungodly amount of snow, I skied off into some powder and sank to my chest, it was sure fun trying to climb out of that I was done for the day after 30min of wiggling to get out.

I just got a mental picture of 25+ snowmobiles tied to the front of that thing trying to pull it out. I bet you don't get stuck, it looked to me like the one that I saw had ran off into a hole that was filled with snow and it just sank.

Had to go up to fix the spot light on the groomer, the weight of the snow broke it off its perch. I took a few photo's of my truck next to it and a few pictures of all the wonderful snow. I'll post them up in a few minutes.:santa:

And here they are, a few more to come. The outhouse roof was cleared by the forest service Sunday morning, everything on it in the photos is from Sunday morning on. The other photo shows where all the locals park thier sleds. And of course the truck compared to the snow pile pic.
